League 9-1-20

Last night I played a league round. I shot a -5 at Archers by Clinton Lake. I can’t lie, I was upset with my score. For the most part, I was playing well, but I couldn’t seem to get things turned on putting-wise. I was leaving my drives in the circle on most holes, but I couldn’t capitalize off my circles edge putts. I had made a few, but a couple left me with bad pads and even a bogey. I only had one upshot that put me in a bad spot, but I’m not too worried about that since my putting game should have been able to clean that up. I have been uncomfortable with my putting stroke lately and that has caused me to lose confidence inside the circle. Every once in a while I will get this feeling of comfort and know that the putt will fall in the basket, but it’s been a major struggle trying to chase that feeling. Aside from the putting woes, I was looking pretty good off the pad! I did manage to take an OB stroke with a missed release and I missed an island with a bad idea. I should have honestly went with a fairway driver on that hole like Babbit. Live and learn. Today I’m going to go put in an hour or two strictly putting, working on upshots, and forehands.
